Chapter 1742 The Brotherhood Between Baoyu and Ruhai

Chapter 1742 The Brotherhood Between Baoyu and Ruhai

Chapter 1742 The Brotherhood Between Baoyu and Ruhai

After the joke, Li Baoyu's expression suddenly became very serious.

"Brother," Li Baoyu asked Zhao Jun, "Are you moving to the city?"

"No way," Zhao Jun said, but Li Baoyu pressed on, "Then if you don't come, why are you buying a house? What business are you going to start?"

"As for the business..." Zhao Jun casually raised his hand and gestured in the direction the jeep had gone, saying, "Let's arrange an accountant, and then have Uncle Zhao arrange a manager."

Upon hearing Zhao Jun's words, Li Baoyu immediately beamed with joy.

At this moment, Li Baoyu only cared about whether his brother would leave. Compared to Liu Mei, he didn't consider anything else.

"Brother Jun, is this really going to work?" Liu Mei asked with some unease. "We don't have any of our own people here. What if we run into debts after a while?"

"No way," Zhao Jun laughed. "We don't sell fresh goods. Everything we sell is accounted for beforehand. We know exactly how much we sell, how much is left, and how much money we made. Would he dare shortchange me?"

"That's true." Li Baoyu smiled upon hearing this and asked, "Brother, what do we sell?"

“I’ll sell whatever we need for daily life,” Zhao Jun said. “Toothpaste, soap, shampoo, clam oil, laundry detergent, slippers… all sorts of odds and ends.”

Zhao Jun spoke casually as he walked into the photo studio.

When they entered, the homeowner had already written a receipt. With the photo studio owner as a witness, both parties signed their fingerprints and agreed to return in three days to pay the rent and sign the contract.

After leaving the photo studio, Zhao Jun and his three companions headed to the department store.

Since starting a relationship with Zhao Jun, Ma Ling has become quite worldly, having visited this department store several times.

Liu Mei had never been to a department store before, and as soon as she entered, she was overwhelmed by the sights.

Seeing that his chance to shine had come, Li Baoyu gave Liu Mei a brief introduction and then led her to the pastry shop.

"Baoyu, your sister-in-law and I are going upstairs first." Zhao Jun said to Li Baoyu, and then led Ma Ling upstairs.

As Zhao Jun was walking up the stairs, he suddenly remembered that he had promised Ma Yang to buy him a diary.

Upon reaching the second floor, the first area you see is the home appliance section.

Zhao Jun's family has no shortage of home appliances; most city dwellers don't have as many as his family.

But as the young couple walked inside, Zhao Jun suddenly stopped.

Ma Ling, who had been pulled back by Zhao Jun, glanced in the direction of his gaze and asked, "What else do you want to buy?"

"I'm thinking of buying a few electric fans," Zhao Jun said, walking towards the electric fans displayed in front of the counter.

"Why did you buy it?" Ma Ling gripped Zhao Jun's arm tightly and asked, "Will we be able to use it?"

In Northeast China, especially Heilongjiang Province, it's only hot for a few days a year, not to mention the mountains.

"Then come back later." Zhao Jun was pulled away by Ma Ling, but he said, "Bring a big truck, I'll buy two to take back, and then put them in the warehouse to blow... gallbladders and stuff."

Hearing Zhao Jun's words, it was clear that buying the electric fan was useful, so Ma Ling didn't say anything more.

Just then, the young couple walked to the place where they had bought pencil cases for Zhao Hong and the others last time. Zhao Jun went over to the sales clerk and asked, "Do you have diaries?"

"Yes, we do." The sales clerk pointed to the glass counter and said, "What kind do you want?"

Zhao Jun looked down and saw a yellow-covered work manual and the plastic-covered diary he wanted.

"I want this kind, the plastic one." As soon as Zhao Jun said this, the sales clerk bent down and took out a stack from the counter, laid it flat on the counter, and said, "Choose one yourself, see what kind you want."

Eight diaries, each with a different plastic cover. They feature landscape paintings, kittens playing with balls, pandas, and short-haired beauties.

The short-haired beauty was wearing a red and white checkered shirt, with big eyes, a high nose, a sweet smile, and slightly flushed cheeks.

As soon as Zhao Jun picked up the diary, he received a strange look from Ma Ling.

Ma Ling picked up the diary with the kitten treading on a ball and handed it to Zhao Jun, saying, "Does our sister like this kind of thing?"

Upon hearing this, Zhao Jun tilted his head to look at Ma Ling. The moment their eyes met, Zhao Jun smiled.

"Huh?" Ma Ling was taken aback and blurted out, "What are you laughing at?"

"Hehe." Zhao Jun picked up the diary with the kitten stomping on a ball and said, "Our sister likes this, but what about our brother?"

"What?" Ma Ling looked completely bewildered, her big eyes wide open.

"Hehehe..." Zhao Jun laughed incessantly. Ma Ling suddenly realized what was happening, snatched the beautiful diary from Zhao Jun's hand, and looked at him, asking, "Are you buying it for Ma Yang?"

"Ah!" Zhao Jun nodded in response. Ma Ling's eyes widened even more. She turned to the sales clerk, held up her diary, and asked, "How much is this?"

"Two pieces," the salesperson replied curtly.

"Two yuan?" Ma Ling's voice changed as she held up the diary and asked the sales clerk, "This one costs two yuan?"

"Ah, two yuan." The sales clerk's tone was very unpleasant, and she even glanced at Ma Ling sideways.

"I don't want two yuan." Ma Ling threw the diary on the counter, but Zhao Jun quickly snatched it away and said to Ma Ling, "This is a gift from our little brother."

“He’s giving it away, so you can’t buy it for him!” Ma Ling’s words didn’t come across as those of a brother-supporting demon. In this respect, this young wife is better than Zhao Chun.

“They gave me the money.” After saying this to Ma Ling, Zhao Jun took the beautiful girl’s diary and said to the saleswoman, “I’ll buy this one. And give me ten pencils too, the kind with erasers on the back.”

Zhao Jun's description was a bit strange. The sales clerk pursed her lips, put away the other diaries, stacked them in the counter, and took out a bunch of erasers and pencils.

A pack of pencils contains ten pencils, and since there are many children in the family, Zhao Jun buys more each time.

"Give me ten more pencil screws," Zhao Jun said, pointing at the counter. "Give me the same kind of all of them. If they're different, the kids at home will start fighting."

Upon hearing this, the sales clerk took out a cardboard box from the counter, which was full of pencil sharpeners with apple shells.

"And more notebooks," Zhao Jun said. "Please bring more of the grid-style and pinyin notebooks."

"How much extra?" the sales clerk asked. Zhao Jun replied, "One hundred of each."

"What are you doing?" Ma Ling grabbed Zhao Jun and said, "Are you trying to exhaust someone?"

"Hahaha..." Zhao Jun laughed, "That day when I went to town to sell vegetables, didn't my second sister complain when I got back, saying that I didn't buy her anything?"

Hearing Zhao Jun's words, Ma Ling laughed. She patted Zhao Jun's arm twice and said, "When people ask you to buy something, they don't mean you have to buy this."

"She didn't say what she wanted." As soon as Zhao Jun said this, the couple burst into laughter.

The sales clerk behind the counter chuckled. As she laughed, she glanced sideways at Zhao Jun, thinking to herself, "This guy is really something!"

"Give us the booklet, and we'll settle the bill later," Zhao Jun urged the sales clerk with a smile, then took money out of his pocket.

"What are you doing, brother?" Li Baoyu led Liu Mei over and saw a stack of notebooks on the counter. Li Baoyu asked in surprise, "Why did you buy so many notebooks?"

"I bought these for my kids," Zhao Jun said with a smile. "They've been like donkeys all day, so I'm giving them something to do."

“Okay!” Li Baoyu said, pressing Zhao Jun’s arm with his big hand, “Brother, don’t take out your money, I’ll pay, I’ll buy it for our younger brother and sister.”

As Li Baoyu spoke, Liu Mei took out some money from her pocket and asked the sales clerk, "How much is it in total?"

"Hey, sister-in-law," Ma Ling interrupted Liu Mei, saying, "There's two yuan to pay separately."

"So what happened?" Liu Mei laughed, "I just gave them all away, that's all."

“That’s what my little brother wanted.” Ma Ling pouted. “He doesn’t study much all day, but he always wants this and that.”

"Oh, sister-in-law," Liu Mei laughed, "Having a younger brother is so wonderful!"

Liu Mei paid the money, and Zhao Jun and Li Baoyu put the notebook and pen in a triangular bag and headed towards the clothing store.

The four of them shopped in the clothing section for over an hour, and Zhao Jun and Li Baoyu carried two large triangular bags, each as big as a sack, on their shoulders.

It was almost six o'clock when I got home from the department store.

Everyone who was at work had returned, and the room was full of people waiting for Zhao Jun and his three companions.

As soon as the dog barked outside, everyone inside started to move.

"Hurry up, Uncle Zhao, Brother Zhao." Zhao Youcai called to Old Master Zhao and Xing San, saying, "Let's sit down and pour the wine, the food will get cold if we wait."

"Where did those kids go?" Li Dazhi muttered, and Li Ruhai chimed in, "They must have done something good without including us."

As Li Ruhai finished speaking, Zhao Jun and the other three entered the house. Seeing Zhao Jun carrying a large bag, Wang Meilan's eyes lit up, and she asked, "Son, what did you buy?"

No sooner had Wang Meilan finished speaking than Zhao Youcai said, "What else is there to buy? We already have so much food at home!"

"We didn't buy any food," Zhao Jun said. "I'll buy you some clothes."

Upon hearing Zhao Jun's words, Zhao Youcai, who had already sat down at the table to pour wine, hurriedly stood up and asked, "What clothes?"

"I'll buy you something to wear in the spring," Zhao Jun said, taking the triangular bag from Ma Ling and placing it on the ground.

"elder brother!"

"elder brother!"

Zhao Hong and Zhao Na rushed towards Zhao Jun, grabbed his arms, and asked in unison, "What did you buy for me?"

"Here it is." Zhao Jun picked up the small triangular bag he had just put down.

It's called small, but that's only compared to the big ones. This little triangular pocket contains a hundred notebooks with character grids and a hundred pinyin notebooks. How small can it be?

Zhao Hong struggled to carry it and ran laboriously into the inner room.

Seeing his younger cousins looking at him expectantly, Zhao Jun smiled and waved to Wang Tian and Wang Xue, saying, "Go ahead, you'll all get one, and Lingdang and Xiaobao will get one too."

Upon hearing this, the children all ran after Zhao Hong.

"Ling'er, sister-in-law." Seeing that the children had all run off, Zhao Jun said to Ma Ling and Liu Mei, "Distribute the clothes you bought to everyone."

Ma Ling and Liu Mei untied the large triangular pockets and took clothes out from inside.

Ma Ling took out two sets and gave one to Zhao Jun. After looking at them, Zhao Jun took them and walked towards Grandpa Zhao and Grandma Zhao.

"Uncle Zhao, Aunt Zhao." Zhao Jun handed over the clothes and said, "I don't know how many clothes you brought, so I bought one set for each of you. You can wear them after they get warmer in a couple of days."

"Oh my!" The two elders of the Zhao family looked at the clothes that Zhao Jun handed to them in surprise.

Then Old Master Zhao looked up at Zhao Jun and asked, "What about ours?"

"Yes," Zhao Jun said with a smile. "Take a look, it should fit."

"Take these quickly." Grandma Zhao got up and took the clothes and pants, saying to Grandpa Zhao, "This child bought these for us, so you should take them."

"It's alright," Zhao Jun said with a smile. "Try it on, I think the size should be just right."

“Come on, Dad.” Zhao Weipeng reached out and took the old man’s arm, saying, “Try them on.”

At this moment, Ma Ling handed Zhao Jun two more sets of clothes and pants. Zhao Jun gave them to Xing San and the old lady, saying, "You can try these on or not. I know what size you wear."

Xing San and the old lady didn't say anything. They smiled and took the clothes, then hugged them tightly and placed them on their laps.

Just then, several children's heart-wrenching screams came from inside the house.

"What's wrong?" Wang Meilan, Jin Xiaomei and the others were surprised, but then they heard Zhao Jun say, "Mom, don't worry about them, I'll buy them some notebooks."

Upon hearing Zhao Jun's words, everyone laughed. Wang Meilan pointed at Zhao Jun twice with her hand, and then took the clothes handed to her by her daughter-in-law, Ma Ling.

"Mom, this is for you." After saying this to Wang Meilan, Ma Ling gave Zhao Youcai a set as well.

"Auntie." Zhao Jun tossed a set of clothes to Xie Sunshi and said, "This is for you."

"And here are mine!" Xie Sunshi said, holding up the clothes. She looked at Wang Meilan and the old lady and said, "Why are my clothes so different from yours?"

The old lady's clothes were the same style as Zhao's; both were gray, collared, and long, similar to a dress.

The jackets worn by Xie Sunshi, Wang Meilan, and Jin Xiaomei were all jackets, but they differed slightly in color and style. Xie Sunshi, being older, wore a more traditional style.

The men all wore the same style: Zhao Youcai, Li Dayong, Xing San, and Old Master Zhao all wore black jackets with blue washed denim pants.

At this moment, Zhao Hong, Zhao Na, and several other children came out of the house crying and howling. Zhao Jun pointed at them and said, "The clothes I bought for you are all with your sister-in-law Liu Mei."

Upon hearing that there were new clothes, the children cheered instantly and rushed towards Liu Mei like a swarm of bees.

Zhao Jun and Li Baoyu did not buy clothes for everyone, but the elderly and children did.

Families like Wang Qiang, Lin Xiangshun, and Zhang Yuanmin all have clothes for their children. But in families like Zhao Weipeng's and the Xie family, it's the elderly who have clothes.

It's enough that adults don't have it, but the elderly and children do; no adult would complain about that.

"Sister," Ma Ling said, walking towards Zhao Chun with a thick stack of small clothes and pants, "this is for Zhou Dao."

Zhao Chun took the clothes and thanked Ma Ling, then pulled Ma Ling and said, "If all else fails, I'll buy him more clothes. He grows so fast, he won't be able to wear them for more than a few days. It would be a waste to buy him any more."

"It won't be a waste." Zhao Ling patted Zhao Chun lightly, then gestured with her chin toward Zhao Jun and Ma Ling, and said, "Wear it to Zhou Dao for a few days, then give it to your nephew, and that's fine."

Zhao Chun was taken aback upon hearing this, then looked at Zhao Jun and Ma Ling, and said with a smile, "I'll buy a new one for my nephew before he gets here."

Everyone burst into laughter. At that moment, Liu Mei took a piece of clothing and walked towards Li Tongyun, saying, "Xiaoyun, try this on. Your brother said you like red, so this red jacket is perfect. It's very fashionable this year."

"Thank you, sister-in-law." Li Tongyun hadn't expected to receive anything from Liu Mei. She thanked her profusely and then stood up to call out to Li Baoyu, "Thank you, brother!"

Li Baoyu smiled, and Li Dazhi and Lin Xue also smiled.

Although Li Baoyu didn't buy clothes for them, he did buy clothes for Li Tongyun, and Li Dazhi and Lin Xue were even happier than if they had received clothes themselves.

The fact that Li Baoyu and Liu Mei were thinking of Li Tongyun already touched them deeply.

They only have Li Tongyun as their child. If Li Tongyun can take care of Li Baoyu and Li Ruhai in the future, then they can rest assured.

At that moment, Li Dazhi secretly made up his mind that he would stay in Yong'an and never leave. Even if the bureau transferred him to be the director, he would not go!

Those who received clothes were happy to try them on, and those who didn't were also happy, chatting and laughing together.

Of the more than thirty people in the room, the only one who was unhappy was Li Ruhai. He looked at Li Baoyu and saw that Li Baoyu was smiling and helping Li Dayong put on his jacket.

Li Ruhai looked around and saw that there seemed to be something in the triangular pocket on the bench. Li Ruhai hurriedly went over, and as he pulled the pocket up to tie the strap, he heard Li Baoyu say, "What are you doing? That's your sister-in-law's clothes."

Li Ruhai let go of his hand and turned around sharply to look at Li Baoyu, but Li Baoyu was already talking to Li Dayong again.

Li Dayong and Jin Xiaomei were overjoyed when their son and daughter-in-law bought them clothes, completely oblivious to Li Ruhai's expression.

At this moment, Zhang Yuanmin noticed that Li Ruhai was unhappy, so he quietly nudged Li Baoyu from behind.

"Hmm? What's wrong, big brother?" Li Baoyu leaned closer and heard Zhang Yuanmin whisper, "You didn't buy Ruhai any clothes? Ruhai seems unhappy."

As Zhang Yuanmin said this, he inwardly resented Li Baoyu. It was a good thing that Li Baoyu bought clothes for Li Tongyun, but Li Tongyun could never surpass Li Ruhai. Li Tongyun wasn't even a proper cousin, so how could she be placed before her own brother?

Upon hearing Zhang Yuanmin's words, Li Baoyu turned to look at Li Ruhai, only to see Li Ruhai glaring at him sideways.

Li Ruhai was waiting for Li Baoyu to give him an explanation, even if Li Baoyu didn't buy him clothes, he could at least say something nice.

To Li Ruhai's surprise, Li Baoyu glanced at him and then turned to Zhang Yuanmin, saying, "Don't worry about him, brother."

Upon hearing this, Li Ruhai was struck dumb, and his body trembled slightly.

Apart from Li Ruhai, everyone was happy for a while until Zhao Youcai urged them to eat quickly, otherwise the food would get cold, and then everyone sat down at the table.

Today's main characters are Li Baoyu and Liu Mei. Liu Mei has just joined this group, and she is rather shy and doesn't talk much. Li Baoyu doesn't care about that. While eating and drinking, he talks about how he picked out clothes for Li Dayong, Jin Xiaomei, Li Xiaoqiao, and Li Tongyun today.

Hearing this, Li Ruhai grew angrier and angrier, glaring at Li Baoyu, but Li Baoyu remained oblivious.

This made Li Ruhai even angrier. He barely ate a few bites before putting down his chopsticks and going to the inner room to watch TV.

……

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, Zhao Jun escorted Zhao Chun and his family of three home.

Zhao Chun sat in the back seat with her child in her arms and saw a triangular bag on the back seat.

"Sister," Zhao Jun said, "those are clothes I bought for you and my brother-in-law. Don't forget them when we get off the bus."

"Why did you buy these for us too?" Zhou Jianjun asked. Zhao Chun added, "Brother, how much do you spend in a day?"

"It's not much money, sis." As Zhao Jun said this, he suddenly remembered that in his previous life he came back clean and tidy and lived in his sister and brother-in-law's house. Not only did he eat and live there for free, but his sister also bought him clothes.

Especially every winter, her older sister would buy herself a pair of cotton-padded shoes. Zhao Jun clearly remembers Zhao Chun saying that cotton-padded shoes wouldn't keep warm after a year, so she would keep last year's shoes as second-hand cotton-padded shoes.

Zhao Jun was really embarrassed, but he was short of money and couldn't give Zhao Chun the money for the shoes. He could only ask, "Sister, how much did you spend this time?"

Zhao Chun's answer each time was, "I don't have much money."

Zhao Jun didn't say anything, silently started the car, and listened quietly to his sister's nagging behind him, but he didn't feel annoyed at all.

Zhao Jun escorted Zhao Chun's family back to Yongsheng. In the outer yard of the Zhao family's house, the women were cleaning up the mess, while the elderly, men, and children went inside to watch TV.

Li Baoyu sat down on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed) and reached out to grab a handful of melon seeds.

Just then, the old lady leaned close to Li Baoyu's ear and whispered, "Baoyu, why didn't you buy anything for Ruhai?"

Li Baoyu turned around, smiled at the old lady, and squinted his eyes.

The old lady smiled when she saw this, and then gently patted Li Baoyu on the back.

Today, the broadcast of "The Legendary Fok Yuan-gap" reached a small climax, with everyone feeling excited as they watched Fok Yuan-gap defeat a foreign strongman.

At this time in the past, Li Ruhai would have already shouted. But today, looking at Huo Yuanjia standing proudly and the foreign strongman lying on the ground groaning, Li Ruhai could only imagine himself beating and beating Li Baoyu.

As the end credits rolled, Li Ruhai ended his brief daydream, stood up, and said to Li Dayong and his wife, as well as Li Xiaoqiao, "Dad, Mom, Xiaoqiao, let's go home."

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Li Ruhai in surprise. Li Ruhai never made arrangements to go home; this was unusual for him.

After Li Ruhai finished speaking, he walked outside.

"Young man, wait a moment," Jin Xiaomei said, pulling Li Xiaoqiao down to the ground.

"Let's go, Mom?" Liu Mei, as the daughter-in-law, got up to see her mother-in-law off.

Earlier, seeing Liu Mei present, Li Dayong held back from saying anything. Now, seeing the two women come out of the room, Li Dayong, carrying clothes his son and daughter-in-law had bought for him in one arm and grabbing Li Baoyu's arm with the other, said, "Why didn't you buy anything for Ruhai?"

At this moment, everyone looked at Li Baoyu, and everyone sensed that something was wrong.

"Hehe..." Li Baoyu chuckled and said to Li Dayong, "Dad, how could I not buy it for him? I bought it for him."

"Huh? You bought it?" Li Dayong was taken aback and quickly asked, "Where is it?"

"We put him at our house," Li Baoyu said in a low voice. "He put him on the kang (heated brick bed) in the room where he sleeps."

“You child, why are you so fussy…” Li Dayong stopped mid-sentence, pointed at Li Baoyu’s nose twice, and then walked towards the outer room.

Under the cover of night, the Li family of four hurried home.

Li Ruhai walked briskly ahead by himself, with Li Dayong, Jin Xiaomei, and Li Xiaoqiao following behind him, each carrying a set of clothes.

Li Ruhai walked into his yard. When the dogs in the yard saw their owner, who had been out all day, return, they excitedly tugged at their leashes and barked, wanting their owner to pet them and rub their heads against him.

Normally, Li Ruhai would have gone over to pet Hei Niu and hug Xiao Hua. But today, Li Ruhai waved his hand dismissively and said irritably, "What are you yelling about? Tomorrow you'll all be going with that heartless Li Baoyu!"

"What are you yelling about?" Li Dayong hissed, "It's so late at night, don't you think it's embarrassing for the neighbors to hear?"

Li Ruhai didn't say anything, but stormed into the house and headed straight for the west room.

Upon entering the room, Li Ruhai didn't even turn on the light and plopped down on the kang (a heated brick bed).

These days, with no pollution, the moon shines truly bright in the mountains.

At this moment, moonlight shone in through the window and onto the kang (a heated brick bed).

Li Ruhai, whose chest was heaving violently, suddenly saw a dark patch on the kang (a heated brick bed).

"Huh?" Li Ruhai suddenly stood up and turned on the light.

Then, Li Ruhai saw two pieces of clothing and two pairs of trousers lying on the kang (a heated brick bed).

The clothes and pants were both made of wool; one set was smoky blue, and the other was light blue.

Li Ruhai hurried over, picked up the blue shirt, and murmured, "Is this for me?"

Suddenly, Li Ruhai noticed a piece of paper stuffed in the pocket of the clothes. He quickly put down the clothes and pulled out the paper.

Li Ruhai sat back down on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), unfolded the paper, and saw that it read: "Ruhai, these two outfits were bought for you by your brother and sister-in-law."

I promised to make you clothes in Yong Sheng, but I didn't keep my word. I'm sorry, so I'm making it up to you now. I hope you won't be angry with me.

Ru Hai, just now when I returned to this house, I remembered many things. I've lived in this house for twenty years, and I've lived with you for fifteen of them.

Ru Hai, although we brothers always bicker, we are blood brothers, born of the same mother, and we share the same blood.

Li Ruhai was a man of strong emotions. His mood had gone through many ups and downs, and the words had further stirred him. By the time he read the last word, he was already in tears.

"Brother!" Suddenly, the door to the room was pushed open, and Li Xiaoqiao jumped into the room. Li Ruhai quickly raised his hand to cover his face and turned around.

"Brother!" Li Xiaoqiao ran to Li Ruhai's side, stood on tiptoe to reach his hand, and asked, "Brother, why are you crying?"

At that moment, Li Ruhai suddenly realized what it meant for a seven or eight-year-old child to be disliked by dogs.

"Get up, I'm not crying!" Li Ruhai shouted, and Li Xiaoqiao shouted back, "You're crying!"

After saying that, Li Xiaoqiao turned and ran outside, shouting as she ran, "Dad, Mom, my little brother is crying!"

"Li Xiaoqiao!" Li Ruhai shouted, getting up. "Don't talk nonsense! If you keep talking nonsense, I'll grab you and jump into the East Ditch!"

……

The next morning, around six o'clock, Li Ruhai, dressed in a smoky-colored woolen coat, left home shivering.

Even though it's late April, it's still not warm enough to wear a thick cotton-padded coat in the mountains in the early morning and evening.

Li Ruhai straightened his back and walked along the village path with his hands behind his back after leaving his home.

Li Ruhai walked from room to room, humming the song "The Great Wall Will Never Fall".

As he walked, Li Ruhai arrived at Zhang Laibao's house.

At this moment, Zhang Laibao, Zhang Laifa, and Liu Mingzhang from the east courtyard of his house came out of the outhouse.

When the conversation between the three reached Li Ruhai's ears, he heard Zhang Laibao say, "That Liu Mei, she almost dated me before."

Hearing Zhang Laibao's words, Li Ruhai frowned. In the beginning, Zhang Laibao had feelings for Liu Mei, but Liu Mei didn't like him at the time and didn't want to talk to him.

Li Ruhai was well aware of this, because such things in this village could not be kept from his eyes and ears.

"You're kidding me." Liu Mingzhang didn't believe it either, and immediately said, "Would Liu Mei be interested in you? Don't make things up. If Li Baoyu heard you like that, he'd beat you to death!"

"Who did you hit? Is this for real?" Zhang Laibao said, "I almost grabbed her hand, I..."

"I'm so pretty, Zhang Laibao!" Li Ruhai cursed angrily, thinking to himself, "Break through the bloody path and swing your fist!" He then swung his fist at Zhang Laibao.

Three seconds later, Li Ruhai fell heavily to the ground and was pinned down by Zhang Laibao and Zhang Laifa.
