Chapter 516: Wang Tiantian
Chapter 516: Wang Tiantian
Jiang Ran smiled at the girl, "I just started school after taking the adult exam."
Upon hearing this, the girl was very surprised.
She looked at Jiang Ran, thinking she was only a year or two older than herself.
Wasn’t that the case?
Jiang Ran noticed the girl’s surprise but didn’t think much of it.
After all, the girl’s age made it clear she got in through the college entrance exam, a different path than hers, so it’s normal for her to be surprised hearing she got in through the adult exam.
The girl quickly collected her emotions and smiled sweetly at Jiang Ran again.
"Hi, I’m Wang Tiantian. We were just in the same classroom earlier, didn’t you know everyone in the class was looking at you?"
Jiang Ran smiled: No, I knew.
Wang Tiantian continued, "Which dormitory are you staying in? I’ll come find you to hang out tonight."
Jiang Ran shook her head, "I don’t live in the dormitory."
"Ah?"
Wang Tiantian was surprised again but soon showed a look of envy.
"You don’t live in a dormitory, that must be great. There are too many people in the dorm, and everything is inconvenient. Did you rent a place nearby or do you live at home?"
"I live at home."
"Then your home must be very close to here." Wang Tiantian’s eyes were full of envy, "Unlike me, my home is in another province, so living at home is out of the question. I thought about renting a place nearby, but my family disagrees, saying it’s not safe for a girl to live alone outside."
She wasn’t wrong.
Studying away from home is all about safety first. Living on campus, although crowded and inconvenient in many ways, at least ensures safety.
A girl living alone outside, especially in this day and age, is still not very safe.
Jiang Ran smiled, "Your family cares about you."
Wang Tiantian nodded, "I know they care about me, so I still live in the dormitory. But some have rented places outside—I wonder where they all live."
Jiang Ran raised her eyebrows, not probing further and not asking more about this topic.
Wang Tiantian did most of the talking while Jiang Ran focused on eating her meal.
So it didn’t take long for Jiang Ran to finish eating.
Wang Tiantian, however, had only taken a few bites of her food.
Jiang Ran stood up with her empty tray, "I’m done. I’ll head out first. Take your time eating."
Seeing Jiang Ran’s empty tray, Wang Tiantian finally realized she had been talking so much she forgot to eat.
She wanted to leave with Jiang Ran but realized leaving her meal unfinished would be wasteful.
With no other option, Wang Tiantian watched Jiang Ran leave.
Jiang Ran didn’t plan on befriending the girl, mainly due to their age difference—they didn’t have much in common to talk about.
After leaving the cafeteria, Jiang Ran headed straight to the library.
The library was very quiet, with quite a few people reading, and no one disturbed each other.
Jiang Ran really loved this environment. After picking out a few books she was interested in, she found a seat and settled down.
Engrossed in reading, time flew by quickly.
Fortunately, Jiang Ran didn’t completely lose track of time.
When it was almost time for class, Jiang Ran stood up.
