Literary Master: Starting with Refusing to Be a Child Star

Chapter 110 Meeting My Little Fan in Person

Chapter 110 Meeting My Little Fan in Person

As the hype surrounding "Saw" gradually subsided, Luo Jinnian's life remained unchanged.

I get up at 6:30 in the morning, wash up, eat breakfast, and leave my rented room with my schoolbag on my back.

The trees at the school gate have regained their vitality and are now lush and green.

When he arrived at the classroom, Gu Yanxi was already there; she always arrived earlier than Luo Jinnian.

Luo Jinnian walked to his seat and sat down. Before he could speak, Gu Yanxi asked, "What time did you go to bed last night?"

Luo Jinnian said, "Eleven o'clock." Gu Yanxi glanced at him, "I said twelve o'clock, so I won."

I don't know when this girl started to enjoy comparing her ability to stay up all night, and she always wanted to prove that she could stay up longer.

Chu Qingning entered the classroom as the bell rang, carrying a bag of small bread. After entering the classroom, she looked around and found that Luo Jinnian had already arrived, as had her deskmate, Li Meng. Chu Qingning put the bread on the table and filled her stomach first.

Luo Jinnian glanced back at her. "You overslept again," Chu Qingning mumbled, her mouth full of bread. "The alarm didn't go off."

After the bell rang for morning self-study, the class representative began collecting homework.

Luo Jinnian folded up his math test paper and handed it over. Gu Yanxi handed over her own homework, then turned to look at him and said, "I've finished watching your 'Saw' movie."

Luo Jinnian said "Hmm," and Gu Yanxi thought for a moment before asking, "At the end, Adam knows that his key fell down when he woke up. What does that plot mean? Doesn't that mean his game was doomed from the start?" Luo Jinnian said, "The relevant reasons will be seen in the later plot."

Gu Yanxi was surprised after hearing this, "There's a sequel to 'Saw'?" Luo Jinnian said, "Yes."

There have been double-digit sequels to the Saw franchise, but as a loyal fan of Saw, Luo Jinnian feels that most of them are not worth copying.

However, the quality of the second and third parts, as well as the sixth part of "The End of Ten Days" which was copied, is still very high.

During the break, Luo Jinnian was writing an article for the May issue of "Story Club" while lying on his desk. Of course, it wasn't "Saw II." A good movie can't be completely revealed all at once, as there always needs to be some build-up before the sequel is released.

Chu Qingning walked over from the back row, placed a bottle of yogurt on the corner of his desk, and left without saying a word.

Luo Jinnian glanced up at the bottle of yogurt and continued proofreading the manuscript.

Li Meng, who sat next to her, saw all of this.

At lunchtime, Luo Jinnian was carrying his tray and looking for a seat when he heard someone call his name. Looking up, he saw Li Haoran sitting down opposite him with a plate piled high with rice. "I watched 'Saw' again."

This young man has rather unusual tastes.

Li Haoran put down his plate and the first thing he said was, "I bought the previous issues of 'Story Club' online, and one of my roommates also read it. After he finished reading it, he couldn't sleep. He woke me up in the middle of the night and said that the book I recommended kept him awake."

Luo Jinnian picked up a piece of rice with his chopsticks, nodded after listening, and said, "That's a good thing."

Li Haoran spoke with great enthusiasm, and at the end he said, "So who exactly is this Jigsaw? I wonder if Early Spring Tea has any plans to write a sequel."

Luo Jinnian said, "Indeed, I'm curious too."

Li Haoran became melancholy. "You've looked at so many early spring tea pieces, haven't you noticed any insider information?"

Luo Jinnian remained unfazed. "I'm just an ordinary reader."

Gu Yanxi scoffed from the side.

Chu Qingning carried a tray over from another row and sat down next to Gu Yanxi.

Luo Jinnian moved aside to make room for her. After Chu Qingning sat down, she glanced at the situation at the dining table. Li Haoran was still talking non-stop about "Saw".

Gu Yanxi was eating quietly, but the corners of her mouth were slightly curved, while Luo Jinnian was chatting leisurely.

Who wouldn't be happy to have one little fanboy?

The afternoon PE class was changed to indoor self-study because of the rain. Since the homeroom teacher was sitting at the front desk, the classroom became quiet except for the sound of turning pages and pens scratching on paper.

Luo Jinnian was sitting by the window, where the rain was falling at a steady pace, making a rhythmic sound as it hit the leaves.

He turned to the next chapter in his math textbook, held the page with his left hand, and copied the formulas into his notebook with a pen in his right.

For Luo Jinnian, it had become muscle memory developed through years of copying. He did the same when copying the manuscript of "Story Club". After finishing the first copy, he would never go back to check the second copy, because he had already avoided all the mistakes in the first copy.

Gu Yanxi is taking a break to paint a picture.

She drew lines on the draft paper with a pencil, depicting the rain outside the window.

A few diagonal lines represent raindrops, and below them is a blurry tree shadow.

Knowing she hadn't formally studied painting, she cleverly refrained from meticulously depicting the leaves. Instead, she used varying densities of hatching lines to create the feeling of a rain curtain before pushing the paper in front of Luo Jinnian and Chu Qingning.

Chu Qingning liked it very much.

Luo Jinnian glanced down and said, "It's fine." Gu Yanxi put the paper away and continued drawing.

This time, a small figure was added under the tree's shadow, holding an umbrella, with hunched shoulders, and its face obscured.

After evening self-study, Luo Jinnian packed his bag and left the classroom, where Chu Qingning was waiting for him at the school gate.

She was holding two bottles of yogurt and handed him one.

The two walked side by side on their way home.

Chu Qingning took a sip of yogurt and suddenly asked, "Brother, you've been writing so many works lately, are you feeling tired?" Luo Jinnian thought for a moment and said, "A little." Chu Qingning said, "Then you should rest more in the future." Luo Jinnian nodded with a smile.

The streetlights cast long shadows of the two people. He walked in front, his shadow trailing behind, while she followed behind, lightly stepping on his shadow.

The two walked one after the other, neither overtaking the other, until they turned into the old street lined with banyan trees. Chu Qingning suddenly quickened her pace and caught up with him. "Brother, do you want to go to the movies this weekend? There's a new film coming out."

Luo Jinnian thought about his weekend schedule. He had already submitted the new month's manuscript for "Story Club" and sent the outline of the "Saw" script to Zhao Bo. There was really nothing else to do.

"OK."

Chu Qingning smiled and quickened her pace to walk ahead.

Watching her retreating figure, Luo Jinnian suddenly felt that his life was like a trolley running on a fixed track. Although it did indeed pass through the same station at the same time every morning, this repetition could hardly be described as "interesting," but its comforting aspect lay in—

Luo Jinnian knew that Chu Qingning would rush into the classroom as soon as the bell rang during the morning self-study session tomorrow, with a bag of bread in her mouth and her hair not yet tied up.

He also knew that Gu Yanxi would turn around at the end of the morning self-study session and say, "What time did you go to sleep yesterday?" and then start showing off his ability to stay up all night before he could answer.

Luo Jinnian hadn't thought about these things in detail before, but now that she's thought about them, she realizes that they are all true.

I used to only know how to live, but now I realize I need to live well.

He stopped and took his sister's soft little hand. "Let's walk together."
