Chapter 27 A Clean Transaction Relationship
Chapter 27 A Clean Transaction Relationship
One hour later.
Thanks to Isabella's hard work, she and Simon Lin finally completed their first interim report on this special research project.
Isabella slowly raised her head, a faint blush spreading across her cheeks.
She hadn't expected it to take so long.
Isabella's breathing became heavy: "Are all Asians like this?"
This was the first time Isabella had bowed her head for so long for "academic exploration".
Lin Ximeng said, "Talent, I suppose."
"I don't believe it," Isabella suddenly leaned forward, a hint of defiance in her eyes. "We need to conduct another round of verification experiments."
Before Lin Ximeng could respond, the second round of "deep verification" had already begun.
Another hour passed.
Edgar was still circling around the pool.
He had chased away all the men and women in the pool, but a few large red marks remained on his left cheek: he had been slapped a few times by a woman when he chased them away.
He looked up at the window of the study on the second floor, and for the fiftieth time, he wanted to step upstairs, but he stubbornly pulled back.
"If she's still angry, I'd be walking right into a trap if I went up there."
He muttered to himself, his gaze fixed on the windowsill—Lin Ximeng's figure occasionally flickered, but never left the window.
"It's good that you didn't do that."
He was puzzled, wondering what the two were doing upstairs that took so long.
The next moment, a ridiculous thought suddenly popped into Edgar's mind:
If only Simon could do something with Isabella to calm her down, that would be great. Maybe Isabella would be happy then and wouldn't be angry with him anymore.
Edgar was staring blankly out the window when he suddenly heard footsteps in the hall. Looking up, he saw Simon Lin and Isabella coming downstairs together.
Just as he was about to move closer to Isabella, Lin Simon suddenly stretched out his arm to block him: "Step back, keep your distance from my boss."
Edgar blushed with anxiety and reached out to push him away: "Isabella, I know I was wrong. I chased all those women away. Please give me another chance!"
Isabella had already put on sunglasses and didn't even lift her eyelids, only saying to Simon Lin indifferently, "I'll wait for you in the car."
After saying that, Isabella walked towards the villa gate without looking back, her high heels clicking on the marble floor, completely ignoring Edgar.
Seeing that Edgar still wanted to chase after him, Lin Simon flipped his wrist and shoved him hard in the chest.
Edgar cried out "Ouch!" and fell hard to the ground.
Lin Ximeng glanced down at him and said, "I've made myself perfectly clear: step back."
Edgar fell to the ground, furious but unable to speak, and finally asked, "Didn't you say that if I kicked them out, you would forgive me?"
This kid actually took it seriously?
Lin Ximeng had some doubts. Perhaps Edgar had been a gigolo for too long, and his brain had become completely smooth.
Even now, you're still asking how to forgive.
Lin Ximeng waved his hand, took a document from a group of security guards, and threw it in front of Edgar with a "thud": "This is the debt you owe my boss. I'll give you three months to pay it off."
Edgar frantically picked it up, glancing at the numbers and entries: "One...one million? Impossible! She would never do this to me!"
The paper was filled with his expenses: the limited edition camera he bought last year, the bills from going to bars, and even the money he spent on bags for women under various pretexts.
He spent all that money long ago, so there's not a penny left.
He was so anxious that he tried to rush out the door, shouting, "I need to find her and get to the bottom of this!"
Lin Ximeng, however, reached out and stopped the other party.
Since I've taken on the role of temporary housekeeper, I need to prevent the boss from being harassed by unknown individuals.
"Throw this trash out."
Lin Ximeng waved to the security guards not far away, and two security guards in black suits immediately ran over and grabbed Edgar's arms like he was a chick.
"Remember to keep an eye on him and make sure he pays back the money," Lin Ximeng added. "Sell his pile of broken lenses to pay off the debt first."
......
In front of the Starbucks on Bruce Avenue.
The roar of an engine came from the street corner, and the next moment, a red Porsche 911 drew a famous arc and stopped in front of Starbucks.
Several passersby turned their heads to look, and some young girls couldn't resist getting closer to take photos.
As soon as Simon Lin opened the car door, Isabella leaned over and planted a perfume-scented kiss on his cheek: "Keep the clothes. I have a feeling we'll meet again."
She gave Simon a charming smile, stepped on the gas, and the sports car shot off instantly, its exhaust fumes carrying a carefree air of bidding farewell to old feelings.
"West Coast women are really good at letting go, just like we homeless people would never be attached to a jar."
Lin Simon pushed open the glass door of Starbucks and saw Felicia in the corner:
She sat on the sofa, surrounded by three men in suits. On the table were three different coffees: a latte, an Americano, and a caramel macchiato, as well as desserts such as tiramisu and macarons.
"Miss, I had the barista make this special drink for me."
"Let's add each other on social media, then I'll treat you to a Michelin-starred meal next time."
Men fawned over her, but Felicia smiled innocently and just silently drank her coffee.
Lin Ximeng clicked his tongue in amazement: "A natural-born con artist, this girl is definitely in the right line of work."
"How was it? Did you find anything?"
Simon Lin walked over and nodded to Felicia. His voice wasn't loud, but it was just loud enough for all three men to hear.
Felicia's eyes lit up, and she immediately stood up from the sofa, smiling at the three of them, "Sorry, my brother came to pick me up. We'll talk next time~"
The three men's faces fell instantly, their eyes almost overflowing with regret. They wanted to ask for the phone number again, but Felicia beat them to it.
Felicia pulled a tissue from her bag, quickly wrote down a string of numbers, and shook it between her fingers: "The number is here, just one."
After saying that, he put the tissue on the table, turned around, picked up two cups of coffee, and walked towards Lin Ximeng.
"Here you go," Felicia handed one of the cups to Simon Lin without any hesitation, as if she had paid for it herself.
"Hmm, these guys put a lot of effort into this," Lin Simon said, taking a sip. The taste was good, and he guessed it was one of the more expensive dishes on the menu.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the three men, who had long forgotten about decorum, reaching around the table to grab tissues, their suit sleeves torn askew, and it looked like they were about to start a fight.
"Are you planning to pick one as your next scam target?" Lin Ximeng sipped his coffee, glancing at the three people still fighting over tissues.
Felicia rolled her eyes: "Just these three? Their suits are practically pilling, what money could they possibly have? They only managed to get the number so they could pay my phone bill, they probably can't afford anything more."
Sure enough, on the West Coast, everyone is trying their best to live, and sex scams are no exception:
One thing leads to another; before the previous goal is even finished, the next goal is already in preparation.
As a homeless person, I can't let myself be outdone.
Felicia suddenly leaned closer and poked his shirt collar with her finger: "Hey, is that Gucci?"
Then she sniffed again and said with certainty, "It smells like a rich woman. Is she going to keep you as a sugar daddy?"
Lin Ximeng immediately slapped her hand away: "Don't talk nonsense, my relationship with the rich woman is a completely innocent transaction!"
